Nagaland: 29 applications considered invalid on scrutiny

The application of as many as 29 substitute candidates vying to contest the ensuing Assembly Elections in Nagaland, were considered invalid today after the end of scrutiny.

The scrutiny of nomination papers for 257 candidates for 60 Assembly constituencies were carried out today whereby altogether 227 candidates were found valid.

According to the State Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha, 29 candidates were found invalid and the scrutiny of one candidate from Suruhotu Constituency has been adjourned to Feb 10.

It was informed that the 29 candidates whose application got rejected were all substitute candidates
